Event Included Fitness Activities and Brand New Diamondback Bikes for 52 Kids and Their Families
On Tuesday, December 13, team sponsor Rally HealthSM and San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon hosted a “Holiday Bike Build” event at Naval Base San Diego's Admiral Prout Field, where 52 children of service members stationed at the base were invited to build and “trick out” brand new Diamondback bikes that they got to take home. Gordon, a Health Ambassador for Rally Health, emceed and participated with the kids and their families in the two-hour event, which was organized in collaboration with the Armed Services YMCA San Diego.

Joining Gordon to help the kids build their new bikes and adorn them with decorations were Rally Cycling pro riders Evan Huffman, Jesse Anthony, Emerson Oronte and Heather Fischer, as well as staffers from Diamondback. All of the activities at the event were designed to showcase some of the simple steps families can take to live healthier lives. The children and more than 300 family members had the opportunity to play a memory game, work on a giant crossword puzzle and sign Rally’s “What Are You Grateful For” wall. The event concluded with a 2-mile bike ride led by the Rally Cycling for all the participants.
